Title of piece: Asian of beauty
Created: June 2009
I highlighted a cultural revival of femininity and passion through bright colours to engage a distinct feeling of confidence. The character in amongst many flowers is poised with grace and serenity. Collaborating fusion of colors and heavy hand textures brought the character to life. I used skip trowel and imperfect smooth textures to balance out the full identity of the woman but simplified the main focus. My inspiration came from touring around the asian community in toronto one afternoon and respecting the detailing that goes into Kimono's and floral arrangements. I was particularly impressed by the thought that went into placing many feminine colors together while keeping elegance and originality a priority.

Water Colour A Maze of time
My inspiration arrived from watching a little boy one afternoon who tried to find his way through the park. With excitement and antisipation the boys frustration dispeared when he began to make his way through. Water colour was my paint of choice, because it created a balance of tones through shapes. I surrounded the boy with blocks of colour to represent the inocence of curiousity and playfulness. This piece reminds me of someone living with Dystonia and the maze of emotions and obsticals that is reached.

My First Art Exhibit

My first Art Exhibit was Sept 13TH 2009 at Vdara. This show was only the beginning for me. I sold 3 pieces at my first show, it was so exciting. That night I learnt so much, and thought of so many ideas for my next show. It was great to meet new contacts that shared some of the same views on art as I do. Thanks to a great staff at Vdara my first show was a success.

At Vdara, they attempt to keep sacred the bohemian Queen Street atmosphere, while at the same time incorporating a casual elegance that can please both the neighbourhood and destination diners. The food represents a culmination of over 40 years of refinement from both chefs, heavily sourcing local and organic ingredients. The style is upper Bohemian

Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation

On November 19Th 2009 Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation for cancer research hosted an incredible event. This event included: silent auction, fashion show, dancers, singers, speakers, a comedian, and the list goes on. I had the pleasure of donating and art piece from my own collection. I was privileged to have met some amazing people that night that inspired me to do as much as I can for charities.
